Martin Guthmann
Schmuckmanufaktur seit 1906

For our English visitors
For over a hundred years, the manufactory has been producing high-quality gold and silver jewellery with great love of detail. Collections are developed with utmost enthusiasm and inventiveness to meet the demands of connoisseurs while remaining affordable for all jewellery enthusiasts.

Christian Guthmann now represents the fourth family generation to run the traditional business. The emotional pieces are still handcrafted and made in sustainable small-scale production in the gold city of Pforzheim. The company, which for decades was only known to industry insiders, in 2006 presented itself to the public for the first time under the label Schmuck&Liebe (jewels & love).

“After completing my vocational training in the school of goldsmiths in Pforzheim, my passion and profession took me to Paris, Munich and Barcelona before bringing me back to Pforzheim again. I have made it my speciality to form old ornaments and jewellery parts, to develop modern jewellery designs from them, and to produce them in small batches. This is where historical manufacturing techniques such as fire enamel, sand casting and hand engraving, as well as recycled gold and silver, pearls, cameos and genuine gemstones are used. Inspiration is derived from old gardens and parks, as well as art and styles of the 19th and early 20th century such as Classicism, Orientalism, Romanticism, Impressionism, Belle Epoque, Art Nouveau and Bauhaus.”
